7 Days To Die offers diverse mission types, with infested missions standing out as particularly challenging yet rewarding. This guide covers everything you need to know about tackling these missions, maximizing your loot, and reaping the benefits.
Starting an Infested Clear Mission
To begin, visit one of the five traders (Rekt, Jen, Bob, Hugh, or Joe). Mission difficulty depends on the tier (higher tier = harder) and biome (Wasteland missions are tougher than forest missions). Infested missions unlock at Tier 2, requiring completion of 10 Tier 1 missions. Expect increased zombie numbers and tougher variants like radiated zombies, cops, and ferals. Tier 6 missions are the most difficult but offer the best rewards for well-prepared players. The objective remains consistent: eliminate all enemies in the designated area.
Completing an Infested Clear Mission
Upon reaching the Point of Interest (POI), activate the mission marker. Leaving the area or dying results in mission failure. POIs often have designed pathways triggered by player movement, leading to traps and ambushes. Avoid these by taking alternate routes; unlit areas are often safer. Carry building blocks to escape traps or create unexpected flanking maneuvers.
Zombie proximity is indicated by red dots on the screen (larger dot = closer). Prioritize headshots. Be aware of special zombie types:

The final room often contains high-tier loot, but also a large number of zombies. Ensure you are fully healed, weapons are loaded and durable, and you know the escape route before entering.
Once all zombies are eliminated, report back to the trader to claim your reward. Don't forget the valuable loot in the final room, including the unique infested cache containing valuable ammo and items.
Infested Clear Mission Rewards
Rewards are random but influenced by game stage, loot stage (boosted by skills like Lucky Looter and mods like Treasure Hunter), mission tier, and skill point allocation. The "A Daring Adventurer" perk significantly improves rewards: more Dukes (1 Duke = 1 XP per sale) and, at rank 4, allows selecting two rewards instead of one. Sell any unwanted items to the trader to maximize XP gain. Rare rewards like solar cells, crucibles, or legendary parts are highly sought after.
