Monster Hunter Wilds: Unique Weapon Designs Revealed
It's no secret that Monster Hunter: World's weapon designs weren't universally praised. Many fans questioned whether Monster Hunter Rise (Wilds appears to be a typo) would repeat the same aesthetic missteps. While early glimpses of Rise's weapons offered limited insight, director Yuya Tokuda has now clarified the design philosophy.
Regarding the Hope series armor and weapons, Tokuda explained: "Incidentally, weapon designs in Monster Hunter: World generally retained a certain form, but they featured a customized appearance based on which monster materials were used. However, in Rise, each weapon has its own unique design."
This directly addresses concerns about weapon similarity. Unlike *World*, where many weapon lines shared similar designs even at their highest upgrade levels (as illustrated below), *Rise* boasts entirely unique weapon designs. The image below shows examples of similar weapon designs from *Monster Hunter: World*.In contrast, the slideshow below showcases the distinct designs of weapons featured in Monster Hunter Rise. Each weapon possesses a unique aesthetic.
