Freedom Wars Remastered features various damage types, each impacting combat differently. While Light Melee weapons target specific body parts, Impact Damage, often found on Heavy Melee and some Ranged weapons, significantly affects enemy stagger. Each Abductor possesses a hidden stagger meter; filling it causes the Abductor to stagger, creating a window for substantial damage.

Mastering Impact Damage is crucial for efficient Abductor takedowns. This guide explains Impact Damage mechanics and strategies for maximizing its effectiveness.

Understanding Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered

Impact Damage isn't a direct increase to overall damage; instead, it's non-elemental damage that boosts the force of your regular attacks, rapidly filling the Abductor's hidden stagger meter. A higher stagger rate leads to quicker stuns, allowing for powerful follow-up attacks. The absence of a visible stagger meter means stuns can occur unexpectedly, presenting both advantages and challenges. Offline play allows for strategic attack charging, while online play requires coordination to avoid hindering teammates. Some Abductors, such as Ramosa, react to stuns by moving, potentially making precise attacks more difficult.

Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered

To enhance Stagger Damage, access the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization. Utilize the Manufacture Modules feature to create Stagger Damage Up Modules using resources like Glassy Carbon (obtained from Basic Operations). The Synthesise Modules feature allows combining identical modules to improve their effectiveness. Attaching the upgraded module to your weapon increases Impact Damage and stagger potential.

Prioritize physical damage enhancements over elemental ones when aiming for maximum stagger, as Impact Damage is non-elemental. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are particularly beneficial for heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons designed for high stagger output.
