Zelda's Own Game Will Also Let You Play as Link

The ESRB rating for Nintendo's upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom reveals a surprising gameplay element: players will control both Zelda and Link! This September release marks Zelda's debut as the main protagonist.

The description states: "Players assume the role of Zelda to seal rifts across Hyrule and rescue Link. Link uses sword and arrows; Zelda wields a magic wand to summon creatures (wind-up knights, pig soldiers, slime) for combat. Enemies are defeated by fire or dissolve into mist."

This represents a significant shift for the Zelda franchise, with Princess Zelda taking center stage for the first time. The game's popularity is evident, as it's become a highly anticipated title since its summer showcase announcement.

The extent of Link's playable segments remains unknown. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches September 26, 2024.

Hyrule Edition Switch Lite: Now Available for Pre-Order!

To coincide with the game's release, Nintendo offers a special Hyrule Edition Switch Lite. Currently available for pre-order, this golden-colored console features the Hyrule crest and a Triforce symbol. Note that the game is not included; however, it bundles a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription for $49.99.
