Warriors Returns with Roguelite Abyss Expansion

Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo launches another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, today, introducing a fresh take on the musou genre. This new roguelite features beloved characters from the Warriors franchise and is available now.

Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss allows players to build a squad of iconic heroes and battle through hordes of enemies. The isometric perspective evokes the feel of Diablo and the acclaimed roguelite Hades.

Gameplay footage revealed a team-based combat system against demonic forces. Featured characters included Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang, representing a diverse roster from across the Warriors series.

According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and expand their team, unlocking additional summoning abilities. Up to seven heroes can be deployed simultaneously, with a launch roster of 100 warriors.

Koei Tecmo promises post-launch character additions, beginning with warriors from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are planned, with hints of characters from beyond the Warriors series potentially joining the fray.

Warriors: Abyss is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is scheduled for February 13, 2025. A Dynasty Warriors Costume Set is available as an in-game bonus for a limited time, ending March 14, 2025.
