"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"

by Jack Apr 23,2025

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been hit with yet another delay, pushing its release to October 2025. This latest postponement, though smaller in scope compared to previous delays, was announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The game was initially slated for release in the first half of 2025, but fans will have to wait a few more months. Despite the delay, there's a silver lining: the game is now complete.

"The status of the game right now is that the game is done," said Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer Marco Behrmann. "We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."

While the delay may be disappointing for fans who have been eagerly awaiting the sequel, the update video brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. They've also promised that Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline at launch. However, fans should note that updates will be less frequent going forward, as mentioned in a post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.

The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs, with an initial launch window set for Q1 2020. The game faced its first delay to late 2020, followed by further delays to 2021, and even layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. The development then shifted to The Chinese Room in 2023, targeting a 2024 release, which has now been pushed to October 2025.

With the game's tumultuous development history, it remains to be seen if Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will successfully launch this fall. The Chinese Room, however, seems confident in their progress. Meanwhile, Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful release, "someone else" will take on the development of a potential Bloodlines 3.
