Acquiring the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early in the game. Once you achieve Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. This vendor sells a variety of items, including the Flare Knife for 3,000 Entitlement Points. Equip it via the Loadout menu in the Personal Responsibility Portal, selecting an available Combat Item slot.

Utilizing the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is a reusable combat tool specifically designed for severing Abductor limbs. This makes it a valuable addition for players who primarily use Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons, providing a limb-severing option without relying on Light Melee weapons. However, remember it's a single-use item per operation; repurchase is necessary for subsequent battles.

To use the Flare Knife, lock onto a severable Abductor limb. Use your Thorn to grapple onto the target area. With the Flare Knife equipped, a severing option will appear.
