T-1000 gameplay trailer for MK1 brings more references to the Terminator 2 movie

NetherRealm Studios and WB Games have just released the official gameplay trailer for T-1000, the iconic Terminator who will be joining the roster of Mortal Kombat 1 next Tuesday. This character brings a unique twist to the game, thanks to his ability to transform into liquid metal, allowing him to creatively dodge projectiles in combat. Fans who previously enjoyed playing as Kabal will find T-1000 particularly appealing, as he incorporates some of Kabal's signature weapons and moves, despite Kabal not being in the current lineup.

The trailer also pays homage to the classic film Terminator 2: Judgment Day with several notable references. One highlight is the recreation of the iconic scene where T-1000 wags his finger—a gesture famously banned in the NBA for being unsportsmanlike. Another nod to the film includes T-1000 inquiring if Johnny Cage has seen John Connor, blending cinematic nostalgia with the game's narrative.

Alongside T-1000, the trailer introduced Madam Bo, another new character set to join Mortal Kombat 1. In his Fatality, T-1000 showcases his liquid metal capabilities by changing his appearance and efficiently disposing of his victim, true to his mission as a Terminator.

No additional announcements were made by WB Games, but rumors are circulating that this might be the final wave of new content for Mortal Kombat 1. Speculation suggests that a new game announcement could be on the horizon, though nothing has been confirmed at this point.
