Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gets Final Major Content Update

Summary

  • Rocksteady releases the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
  • Season 4 Episode 8 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
  • Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's servers will remain online, but no new content will be developed after the January 14 patch.

Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has unveiled Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for this live-service game. Launched to mixed reviews in February 2024, the game's journey has been short-lived, with Rocksteady announcing the cessation of support on January 14, less than a year after its debut. The concluding patch is now accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Despite the initial excitement around the concept of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the game's unexpected shift to a live-service model is widely considered the reason for its quick decline. Just 10 months after its release, Rocksteady confirmed on December 9, 2024, that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the last chapter for the game. In their announcement, the studio assured fans that all online features would remain active, allowing players to continue enjoying the game with friends.

Following a brief period of server maintenance, Rocksteady has rolled out the final content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With servers now operational, players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can dive into Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. This update introduces an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, a range of potent new Notorious weapons, and a climactic Mayhem mission against Brainiac. Additionally, the patch includes significant bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels.

Even after the release of Season 4 Episode 8, the game's servers will continue to function. Thanks to the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7 in December, players can also enjoy the game's content, including the main campaign and seasonal story missions, without an internet connection. While Rocksteady has not announced plans to shut down the servers entirely, the offline mode ensures that fans can still play if the servers are ever taken offline.

For those who missed out on experiencing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League during its brief run, the game has been added to PlayStation Plus. Subscribers can claim this controversial title, along with The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, until February 3.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

Explore the medieval Elseworld further in Episode 8: Balance, featuring new twists on familiar locations and fresh settings. Embark on your quest at The Quarry, a fortified citadel you must conquer to defeat the tyrant Brainiac. The Arena offers a venue for jousting tournaments or interdimensional battles, while the statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van evoke the era's chivalry and honor.

LIBRA INFAMY SET

Episode 8's Infamy Set draws inspiration from Libra, a formidable DC Super-Villain fixated on balance. His Infamy Set applies Scales of Libra stacks to enemies, boosting both the damage they deal and receive by 50% per stack. This set promotes a high-risk, high-reward approach, encouraging a dynamic and bold playstyle.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS

Complementing Libra’s Infamy Set, The Silencer’s Complete Silence weapons deliver a 200% damage bonus to enemies affected by Scales of Libra stacks. The Alt-Fire mode amplifies this to 1,000% bonus damage and creates a Silencer Zone, reducing enemy damage by 100% within the zone, making it an excellent crowd control tool.

Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets pierce through enemies, apply Scales of Libra stacks, and have a chance to electrify foes. Positioning multiple enemies in a single shot can unleash devastating effects.

Chronos’ Equilibrium enhances the glass cannon playstyle, offering a 25% damage increase for every 1% of missing Shield, pushing players into the heart of battle for a thrilling, high-risk experience.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

  • Adjusted the duration of Deathstroke’s Suicide Strike to align more closely with other characters.
  • Lowered XP requirements for Squad Levels, with retroactive rewards for previously earned XP. Players may see an increase in Squad Levels and additional Squad Points to spend post-update.
