Ship Sails in Divinity: Original Sin 2

This guide details how to get the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.

After removing your Source collar, your goal is to get the Lady Vengeance underway. This isn't done through conventional means; you must find an unconventional method. Explore the ship, talk to NPCs, and gather clues. The key is accessing Magister Dallis' cabin and the Ancient Songbook within.

Investigate Dead Bodies

Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghouls on deck. A dead magister holds a Sodden Diary containing a password. You can also obtain the password by successfully completing a skill check with the northern stateroom door. In addition to the password, you'll need a Strange Gem to open the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror (south of the stateroom doors) allows respeccing, useful for skill checks.

Find the Portside Stateroom

Use the password from the diary (or skill check) and the Strange Gem (found on Bishop Alexander's regalia after examining him closely) to unlock the Portside Stateroom. This leads to Magister Dallis' cabin. The stateroom also contains a hidden hatch with two ghouls and a Teleportation Prism.

Find the Ancient Empire Songbook

Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, talk to Tarquin and Dallis. The Ancient Empire Songbook is on a pedestal in the center of the cabin. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction will be impossible once the ship sails.

Set Sail

Return to the deck and speak to Malady. She will ask you to sing the song to the ship. Find the dragon figurine to the west of the deck and sing the song. This will start the Lady Vengeance. Be prepared for a challenging battle with powerful magisters immediately afterward. Ensure your party is well-equipped and has sufficient companions.
