Pokémon GO's Shadow Raid Day: A Fiery Ho-Oh Return

Get ready for a fiery showdown! Pokémon GO is hosting a Shadow Raid Day featuring the legendary Ho-Oh on January 19th, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. This marks the first Shadow Raid Day of 2025, offering trainers another chance to capture this powerful Fire-type Pokémon.

This event builds upon the success of previous Shadow Raids introduced in 2023, providing a thrilling way to obtain these unique Pokémon variants. Past events have seen the return of popular Shadow Pokémon like Moltres and Mewtwo, and now Ho-Oh takes center stage.

Event Highlights:

• Shadow Ho-Oh Encounters: Five-star raids will feature Shadow Ho-Oh with increased shiny rates.
• Free Raid Passes: Spin Gyms to earn up to seven free Raid Passes (five base, plus two bonus).
• Sacred Fire: Use a Charged TM to teach your Shadow Ho-Oh the devastating Sacred Fire attack (130 power in Trainer Battles, 120 in Raids/Gyms).
• Raid Pass Boost (Optional): A $5 ticket increases your Raid Pass limit to 15, granting access to even more Ho-Oh encounters. This ticket also provides a 50% XP bonus and 2x Stardust from raids until 10 pm local time on January 19th. An Ultra Ticket Box ($4.99) bundles the event ticket with a Premium Battle Pass.

The January 19th event isn't the only excitement Pokémon GO has planned. Sprigatito's Community Day recently concluded, and Fidough is available until January 7th.
