"Save $1,000 on Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 Gaming PC"

by Simon Mar 30,2025

High-end prebuilt PCs often come with a hefty price tag, but savvy shoppers can still snag incredible deals that offer significant savings. Currently, Dell is slashing $1,000 off the Alienware Aurora R16 equipped with a GeForce RTX 4090, bringing the price down to $3,699.99. With standalone RTX 4090 graphics cards seeing a price hike and costing upwards of $2,000, building your own PC might not be as cost-effective as you'd think. Plus, opting for a prebuilt PC like this one comes with the added benefit of an all-inclusive warranty.

Alienware Aurora R16 i9-14900KF RTX 4090 Gaming PC

$4,694.99 save 21% $3,699.99 at Alienware

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC packs a punch with an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 64GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a spacious 4TB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900KF stands out as the top Intel gaming CPU available today, excelling not only in gaming but also in productivity tasks. Known for running hot, it's effectively cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a reliable 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 4090 is the undisputed king of GPUs, outpacing all competitors from both NVIDIA and AMD. As Chris Coke noted in his review, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can enjoy any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, delivering high framerates even in the most demanding new titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. It's also the go-to consumer card for AI applications, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.

A note on RTX 5000 series GPUs

NVIDIA's next generation of GPUs, the RTX 5000 series, is slated to launch starting at the end of January. The RTX 5090 is expected to be more powerful, but at a steep price of $2,000 for the Founder's Edition, and availability might be limited. The RTX 5080 will hit the market at $999, but it too may face supply constraints. We'll soon benchmark these cards, but they'll come with less VRAM than the 4090 (16GB vs 24GB) and may not immediately dethrone the 4090 as the top performer.

A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis

The R16 represents Alienware's 2024 desktop PC design, boasting a 40% smaller volume than its predecessors. It features an efficient airflow system, drawing air in through side intake vents over the GPU and a 120mm front fan, and expelling it via a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. While some configurations might skip the liquid cooling, we highly recommend it due to its superior performance over Alienware's standard air cooling. Note that Dell unveiled a new Area 51 chassis at CES 2025, but it closely resembles the R16 in both appearance and design.
