Rust Overhaul: Cooking and Farming Revamped

Rust's latest update, "The Crafting Update," significantly expands the game's crafting and survival mechanics. A new culinary workbench lets players grill chicken legs and even enjoy them with Siberian vodka! Recipes are required for successful cooking, and the resulting meals offer stat boosts and gameplay modifiers.

Domesticating chickens is now possible with the addition of chicken coops. These coops provide shelter for chickens and chicks, which require careful attention to their hunger, thirst, love, and sunlight needs to survive. Chicken meat spoils, necessitating refrigeration for long-term storage; food items now display expiration timers.

Adding a touch of sweetness, wild beehives can be found in trees. Players can harvest honeycombs, but must relocate them to player-built hives crafted from wooden boxes. Extracting honey is dangerous; players need protective suits, water, or flamethrowers to avoid bee stings. A new weapon, the Bee Grenade (a jar of honey that releases aggressive bee swarms), adds a unique tactical element.

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, introducing separate tech trees for plumbing and electricity. This allows for the creation of complex automated systems and even entire factories. Finally, premium servers are now available, exclusively for players with Rust inventories valued at $15 or more. This aims to create a more positive environment by filtering out cheaters and disruptive players.
