What Are Pokemon Vending Machines? What They Sell and How To Find One Near You
Pokémon Vending Machines: A Guide for Trainers
Pokémon fans are buzzing about the increasing number of Pokémon vending machines popping up across the US. These aren't your average snack dispensers; they offer a convenient way to grab Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products. Let's explore what they are, what they sell, and how to find one near you.
What are Pokémon Vending Machines?
These automated machines dispense Pokémon merchandise, primarily focusing on the TCG. Initially piloted in Washington in 2017, their success led to wider deployment across various US grocery stores. Unlike older models, these machines feature user-friendly touchscreens, allowing you to browse and select items like booster packs and Elite Trainer Boxes before paying with a credit card. The process is enhanced with charming Pokémon animations. While digital receipts are emailed, returns aren't accepted.
What do they sell?
US Pokémon vending machines predominantly stock Pokémon TCG products, including booster packs and Elite Trainer Boxes. While stock varies, expect a selection of TCG items. Unlike some Pokémon Center machines in Washington State (which offer a wider range of merchandise), these primarily focus on TCG products; plushies, apparel, or video games are generally not available.
Finding a Pokémon Vending Machine

Note that distribution is currently concentrated in specific cities within these states and primarily within partner grocery stores like Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Frys, Kroger, Pick ‘n Save, Safeway, Smith’s, and Tom Thumb.
