Palworld Update 0.5.0 Adds Crossplay Across All Platforms, Blueprint Upgrading, Photo Mode and More

by Daniel Mar 25,2025

The latest update for Palworld, version 0.5.0, introduces a game-changing feature: crossplay across all platforms, allowing players to connect and play together regardless of their chosen device. This major update also enhances the gameplay experience with the introduction of the Global Palbox, enabling players to store and transfer Pal data between different worlds. The Dimensional Pal Storage system, boasting ten times the capacity of a regular Palbox, provides an expansive storage solution that can be accessed by guild members or used privately, adding a new level of convenience and customization.

In addition to these core features, the update brings a new cosmetic armor system, allowing players to change their character's appearance without affecting their armor stats through the Antique Dresser. A photo mode has been added, accessible from the Pal Command Wheel, offering players the chance to capture stunning in-game moments. The introduction of the Drafting Table further enriches crafting, enabling players to combine low-rarity blueprints to create higher-rarity ones. Dedicated servers for Mac users are now available, ensuring a smoother experience on this platform.

Developer Pocketpair has announced plans to introduce dedicated servers for the PlayStation 5 version in the future, further expanding the game's reach. Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an impressive 32 million players. Looking ahead to 2025, the studio has outlined a comprehensive content roadmap that includes an "ending scenario" and additional new content, promising to keep the community engaged with the creature-catching survival game.

Palworld's launch on Steam for $30 and its inclusion in Game Pass on Xbox and PC have shattered sales and concurrent player records. The game's unprecedented success has led Pocketpair to form a new business, Palworld Entertainment, in collaboration with Sony, aimed at expanding the IP and bringing the game to the PS5. However, the game's success has not been without challenges, as Pocketpair faces a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company over alleged patent infringements. In response, Pocketpair has made adjustments to Pal summoning mechanics and is prepared to defend its position in court.
