Overwatch 2 is making a grand return to China, bringing with it a host of events and rewards from Seasons 1 through 9, along with skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology. The Chinese Overwatch 2 community is eagerly anticipating their return to Future Earth on February 19, coinciding with the start of Season 15.

The much-anticipated return of Overwatch 2 to China was recently announced. The game is scheduled to fully relaunch on February 19, following a successful technical test from January 8 to 15. This test allowed fans to experience the content they missed, including Overwatch: Classic and the six new heroes introduced since the servers went offline in China during Season 2.

Following the conclusion of the technical test, Overwatch 2 has unveiled some exciting prospects for Chinese players. In a message on Xiaohongshu, also known as RedNote, game director Aaron Keller detailed a multi-week celebration titled "Return to China." This event will feature popular in-game events and rewards missed over the past two years. Additionally, all Chinese players will have the opportunity to earn Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 and 2 before the game's relaunch, and from Seasons 3 through 9 via in-game events post-relaunch.

Chinese Mythology – Theme for Overwatch 2 Season 15?

Keller also hinted that Overwatch 2 Season 15 will include skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology. However, it remains uncertain whether these skins will be new creations or existing ones, if they will be exclusive to China, or if they might be part of a broader Chinese mythology theme for Season 15, akin to the Norse mythology-inspired cosmetics of Season 14.

Fans worldwide won't have to wait long for more details, as Overwatch 2 Season 15 is slated to start on February 18, just before the game's official relaunch in China. With only a month to go, players can anticipate more information soon, with a full reveal expected in early February.

In the meantime, players can participate in the second 6v6 test, Min 1, Max 3, from January 21 through February 4, featuring the classic 2-2-2 team composition.
