Ninja Gaiden 4 announced, Ninja Gaiden 2 remaster released

DOOM: The Dark Ages may have stolen the show at Developer_Direct, but another major announcement emerged from the event: Ninja Gaiden 4. This highly anticipated sequel to Koei Tecmo's popular series is slated for a Fall 2025 release.

The debut trailer showcased the signature action-packed slasher gameplay, starring the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa. Ninja Gaiden 4 introduces innovative mechanics, including the ability to swiftly navigate the environment using wires and rails, as seen in the gameplay footage.

Set in a visually stunning cyberpunk city perpetually shrouded in toxic rain, players will battle hordes of genetically modified soldiers and terrifying otherworldly creatures. The overarching goal? To lift an ancient curse plaguing this sprawling megacity.

Adding to the excitement, a massive remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 is already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and is included in the Game Pass catalog. Team Ninja has meticulously rebuilt the game using Unreal Engine 5, resulting in completely overhauled character models, visual effects, and environments. The remaster also incorporates elements from later games in the series, and excitingly, adds three new playable characters.

Koei Tecmo's efforts on both the remaster and the upcoming sequel are truly commendable and deserve the enthusiastic response from the gaming community.
