Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase March 2025: Everything Announced for Title Update 1
Capcom recently hosted an exciting Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, unveiling a wealth of new content and features for the latest installment in the beloved Monster Hunter series. The spotlight was on Title Update 1, set to launch on April 4, 2025, which will be available as a free update to all Monster Hunter Wilds owners. Accompanying the update, Capcom will release a variety of both free and paid DLC, enhancing the game with new armor, cosmetics, and fearsome monsters.
What are you most excited about in the upcoming update? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
A New Hub For Hunters
The showcase kicked off with a detailed look at the new endgame hub for hunting parties, aptly named the Grand Hub. This vibrant new area offers a plethora of activities, from feasting together and arm wrestling to enjoying nightly performances by the Diva. Players can also enjoy the Barrel Bowling mini-game, where they can earn vouchers and other rewards through various activities. To unlock the Grand Hub, reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Arrives
One of the major highlights of Title Update 1 is the introduction of the bubbly monster Mizutsune. Known for its swift tail strikes and water jets, Mizutsune promises to challenge hunters with its dynamic moveset. To encounter this monster, reach HR 21 and speak to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest to start the quest. Successfully hunting Mizutsune will reward you with new gear to enhance your arsenal.
Additional Hunts on the Way
The update also introduces new Event Quests, including a challenging fight against Arch-tempered Rey Dau, a step above the usual Tempered battles. You'll need to be HR 50 or above to take on this formidable foe, with new armor awaiting those who emerge victorious. Additionally, Zoh Shia will have a new quest available, allowing hunters to re-fight this beast after reaching HR 50, and craft new armor from it.
Arena Quests
Speedrun enthusiasts will find new challenges in Arena Quests, designed for competitive players to vie for the fastest clear times. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be available, with pendants awarded for participation and achievement. Access these quests through the counter in the new Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
Alma, the hardworking handler, is getting a stylish upgrade with new cosmetic options. Players can change Alma's attire through an appearance menu in camp, with one new outfit available for free. Completing a specific side mission will also allow you to swap out Alma's glasses, adding a personal touch to your companion.
More DLC is on the way
Alongside Title Update 1, a mix of free and paid DLC will be released. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games will be available for free, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, accessible through the store or included with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition, offers additional customization options. New stickers and looks for Alma are also on the horizon.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
Capcom is set to introduce more Event Quests and Seasonal Events, with the Grand Hub transforming during these special periods. The first Seasonal Event, the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, begins on April 23, featuring pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Limited equipment, gestures, and decorations will be available during these events, and Capcom has confirmed that most previous events and quests will return in the future.
The Roadmap Ahead
Here's a glimpse of the rollout schedule for Title Update 1 and its related content. U.S. players will see the update on April 3, followed by the Blossomdance event on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau arrives on April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration will be introduced.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a sneak peek at Title Update 2, slated for a summer release. While no specific date was announced, a teaser image hinted at the return of the long-awaited monster Lagiacrus, the underwater leviathan, set to cause chaos on the surface.
