Monster Hunter Wilds Seasons and Weather, Explained
Seasons and weather play a crucial role in shaping the dynamic world of *Monster Hunter Wilds'* Forbidden Lands. Beyond enhancing the visual appeal, these elements significantly influence gameplay, offering unique challenges and opportunities. Here's a comprehensive guide to understanding and navigating the seasons and weather in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.
Monster Hunter Wilds Seasons, Explained
*Monster Hunter Wilds* features two distinct seasons that govern the weather in the Forbidden Lands: Fallow and Plenty. The game begins in the Fallow season, characterized by a harsh environment with intense weather events and a scarcity of resources. This scarcity leads to heightened desperation, making monsters more aggressive and likely to attack each other more frequently than during Plenty.
In contrast, the Season of Plenty offers a more favorable climate, with warmer temperatures and an abundance of flora, resulting in a vibrant and colorful environment. During Plenty, small monsters are less hostile and less likely to travel in packs, making the environment safer for hunters. This season is celebrated by both the villagers of the Forbidden Lands and *Monster Hunter Wilds* players due to the easier access to Endemic Life and various plants.
Between these seasons, players will encounter brief but intense weather events known as Inclemency. These events amplify the weather's intensity and set the stage for dramatic battles against Apex Predators. For instance, during the Pinnacle of the Pack Assignment, hunters face the Alpha Doshaguma amidst the Sandtide, a fierce lightning-filled sandstorm. These unique weather events add excitement and challenge to encounters with Apex Predators throughout the game.
How To Check the Seasons and Weather in Monster Hunter Wilds
Monitoring the current season and weather is essential for strategic planning in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. The game's HUD provides icons in the bottom left corner indicating the time of day and season. For more detailed information, players can access the map and press the prompted button to view the Environment Overview, which details the current weather and season.
Additionally, Optional Quests in *Monster Hunter Wilds* are set to specific times of day and seasons. When embarking on these quests, players will be temporarily transported to the designated environment, regardless of the current season in the main game.
How To Change the Season and Weather in Monster Hunter Wilds
Given the significant impact of seasons on the flora and fauna of the Forbidden Lands, players may prefer Fallow or Plenty depending on their objectives. Fortunately, *Monster Hunter Wilds* allows players to adjust the season and weather to suit their needs.
To change the season and weather, players must set up their tent and rest. Within the tent, navigate to the BBQ Menu and select the Rest option. Here, you can choose the desired Environment and Time for your Hunter to wake up in.
However, resting comes with a cost of 300 Guild Points and is only available to High Rank Hunters. It's important to note that resting cannot be done during an active quest.
Understanding and utilizing the seasons and weather in *Monster Hunter Wilds* can greatly enhance your gameplay experience, allowing you to strategize effectively and immerse yourself in the rich, dynamic world of the Forbidden Lands.
