Monster Hunter Wilds Gets PC Benchmark and New System Requirements

by Jonathan Mar 14,2025

Get ready to hunt! Monster Hunter Wilds is almost here, and Capcom has just released a PC benchmark tool on Steam to help you determine if your system is ready for the action. Even better, they've also lowered the official PC system requirements!

Capcom's new benchmark tool is available now on Steam. While it requires a shader compilation upon launch, it's a straightforward way to test your PC's capabilities and see how it stacks up against the updated requirements. This is especially useful given the recent changes.

Previously, hitting 1080p at 60fps with Frame Generation enabled required a beefy system. Now, Capcom has significantly reduced the recommended specs. Here's what you'll need for a smooth 1080p/60fps experience with Frame Generation:

OS: Windows 10 (64-bit) / Windows 11 (64-bit) Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / Intel Core i3-12100 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Memory: 16 GB Graphics Card (GPU): GeForce RTX 2060 Super / Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB VRAM) Storage: 75 GB SSD (Solid State Drive required)

These updated specs should allow you to enjoy Monster Hunter Wilds at 1080p and 60fps with Frame Generation enabled, according to Capcom. The reduction in requirements is noticeable, making the game accessible to a wider range of PC players.

Early benchmark results show improved performance compared to the beta, especially with Frame Generation enabled. However, Steam Deck users may still face challenges. While high-end PCs are passing with ease, the Steam Deck’s performance doesn't seem promising.

Another significant change is the reduced storage requirement. The game now only needs 75 GB of SSD space, down from the previously announced 140 GB. This is a surprising reduction, especially considering the typical trend of increasing game sizes.
