Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide

Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, especially after the release of Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout. This mission begins after the anomaly clears the nosalis horde in the previous section, with Khan leading Artyom to the next station via railcar.

Locating the Bomb

After exiting the railcar, follow Khan to the defenders at the barricaded escalators. They'll explain that an explosives team vanished while attempting to collapse the tunnel, preventing further nosalis attacks. Your task: find and detonate the bomb. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows directly ahead – they'll damage Artyom. Once you have the bomb, either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if necessary.

Destroying the Tunnel

To detonate the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective) and wait for the cutscene. Artyom automatically plants and lights the fuse; escape the blast zone immediately to avoid being killed. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb in the same area will also cause a collapse. Note: even with the tunnel destroyed, nosalises may still enter through other routes.

Securing the Airlock

The mission isn't over yet! The defenders mentioned an airlock that needs collapsing. Climb the stairs on the right to the torchlit area (ignore the nosalises). Interact with the support columns to place and detonate a pipe bomb. Again, evacuate immediately after lighting the fuse. With both entrances destroyed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room and the next mission, "Armory."
