Meta Pulls Plug on Troubled Quest Pro Headset

by Penelope Feb 13,2025

The Meta Quest Pro is officially discontinued. Meta's website confirms its unavailability, following earlier announcements predicting stock depletion by early 2025. High price ($1499.99) hindered its adoption, unlike the more affordable Meta Quest line ($299.99-$499.99).

The Meta Quest 3 is presented as a superior alternative, offering a compelling mixed reality experience at a lower price point ($499). It boasts enhanced specifications including higher resolution, refresh rate, and a more powerful processor compared to its predecessor. Furthermore, the Quest 3's lighter weight contributes to a more comfortable user experience. The Quest 3 also maintains compatibility with the Touch Pro controllers.

For budget-conscious consumers, the Meta Quest 2S provides a more affordable option, starting at $299.99, albeit with slightly reduced specifications.

While some remaining Meta Quest Pro units might exist in retail stores, availability is dwindling rapidly.
