Quick Links

Marvel SNAP's initial Spotlight Cache card for 2025, Victoria Hand, is an Ongoing character that enhances cards generated within your hand. While often categorized as a card-generation archetype staple, Victoria Hand surprisingly excels in discard decks as well. This guide presents two robust Victoria Hand decks, one for each archetype, to help you integrate her into the current SNAP meta.

Victoria Hand (2–3)

Ongoing: Cards created in your hand gain +2 Power.

Series: Five (Ultra Rare)

Season: Dark Avengers

Release: January 7, 2025

The Best Deck for Victoria Hand

A card-generation deck featuring Devil Dinosaur is ideally suited for Victoria Hand. For optimal synergy, combine Victoria and Devil Dinosaur with: Quinjet, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Cosmo, The Collector, Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl.

Iron Patriot, Mystique, and Speed can substitute for Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Frigga.

Victoria Hand Deck Synergies

  • Victoria Hand boosts cards added to your hand by card generators.
  • Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl are your card generators. (Frigga and Moon Girl also duplicate key cards for added buffs or disruption.)
  • Quinjet reduces the cost of generated cards.
  • The Collector's power increases with each generated card.
  • Cosmo provides tech card protection for Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand.
  • Devil Dinosaur is your primary win condition, ideally played after Moon Girl or with numerous generated cards in hand.

Reports suggest Victoria Hand might buff cards generated in the opponent's hand or those that change locations. Whether this is a bug or intended functionality remains unclear. If not a bug, the card text requires clarification. Regardless, it's a factor to consider when using Victoria Hand decks.

Effective Victoria Hand Gameplay

When playing a Victoria Hand deck, remember:

  1. Balance card generation and energy management. A full hand maximizes Devil Dinosaur's potential, but you also need space to generate cards and utilize Victoria's effect. Efficient energy use is crucial; sometimes skipping turns to maintain a full hand is more important than filling the board.
  2. Use "joker" cards to mislead your opponent. Victoria Hand decks generate random cards. Strategic placement of these cards can distract your opponent and obscure your strategy.
  3. Protect your Ongoing lane. Opponents often target the Victoria Hand lane with tech cards like Enchantress. To counter this, play Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand in the same lane (creating an Ongoing setup) and protect them with Cosmo.

Alternative Discard Deck for Victoria Hand

Victoria Hand is also proving effective in refined discard decks. Pair her with: Helicarrier, MODOK, Morbius, Scorn, Blade, Apocalypse, Swarm, Corvus Glaive, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif, and The Collector.

Countering Victoria Hand Strategies

Super Skrull is an excellent counter to Victoria Hand. Many players utilize Doctor Doom 2099 decks, which Skrull synergizes with, making him a strong tech card against both Victoria Hand and Doom 2099 lineups.

Other counters include Shadow King (removes Victoria's buffs in one lane) and Enchantress (removes all Ongoing effects). Valkyrie, played in a critical enemy lane, can disrupt their power distribution.

Is Victoria Hand a Valuable Acquisition?

Victoria Hand is a worthwhile addition to your collection. Whether acquired through the Spotlight Cache or purchased with Tokens, she offers a strong return on investment. While somewhat reliant on RNG, her permanent buffs enable consistent deck building. Her compatibility with multiple archetypes (card-generation and discard) makes her a valuable asset for many players.
