Marvel Rivals Hero Cadence Announced: One Every Six Weeks
NetEase Games has pledged a steady stream of new heroes for its Marvel Rivals game, promising a new character every six weeks. This commitment was confirmed by Creative Director Guangyun Chen in an interview with Metro. The plan involves dividing each three-month season into two halves, each introducing a new playable hero. This consistent release schedule aims to maintain player engagement and enhance the overall gaming experience.
"Every season will bring fresh storylines, new maps, and new heroes," Chen explained. "We're splitting each season in half, releasing a new hero with each half."
Marvel Rivals launched with a roster of popular heroes including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, and Storm, but the game's future success hinges on maintaining the momentum of new character introductions. Season 1, titled "Eternal Night Falls," began with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch. Speculation for Season 2 includes Blade, with fans eagerly anticipating the addition of characters like Daredevil and Deadpool.
Beyond new heroes, NetEase plans continued balance adjustments and gameplay refinements. The studio's commitment to regular updates, coupled with the game's initial success, suggests a robust future for Marvel Rivals.
