Longvinter, the PC's Answer to Animal Crossing, Leaves Early Access on Steam

Longvinter, after a three-year journey through early access on Steam, has finally reached its 1.0 release! This milestone update, shaped by player feedback and bug fixes, delivers a revitalized experience for both veterans and newcomers.

The star of the show? Oil rigs! Scattered across the archipelago, these rigs allow players to extract oil, refine it into fuel, and engage in intense battles against LRI mercenaries guarding vital supply lines. Adding to the excitement are new dynamic events: helicopter crashes yielding tactical gear, and an underground arena offering hourly battles for valuable rewards.

The game world itself has expanded, teeming with new wildlife. Lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and even goats now roam the landscape, all tamable as mounts. A wealth of new items awaits, including buff-boosting hats, tactical combat vests, an array of weapons and explosives, new kitchen recipes, and interactive building/decorating objects like oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Weapon balance has also received significant attention.

The future looks bright. Version 1.1 promises farming mechanics, a streamlined tutorial, apartment rentals, and shared community features. Furthermore, Longvinter’s journey continues with a confirmed PlayStation launch slated for 2026, bringing the adventure to a wider audience.
