Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090: 32GB GDDR7 Memory and 575W Power Consumption

Leaked information suggests Nvidia's upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card will feature a substantial 32GB of GDDR7 video memory, double that of the anticipated RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti. This high-performance card will, however, demand a significant 575W power supply. The official unveiling of the RTX 50 series, including the RTX 5090, is scheduled for Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote on January 6th.

The RTX 50 series, codenamed Blackwell, represents Nvidia's next-generation graphics card lineup, launching more than two years after the RTX 40 series. Building on its predecessor, the new series will leverage proprietary Tensor Cores for AI processing, incorporate features like DLSS upscaling and ray tracing, and support PCIe 5.0 on compatible motherboards. This launch will see the RTX 50 series compete directly with AMD's Radeon RX 9000 series and Intel's Battlemage GPUs, following the discontinuation of some RTX 40 series models like the RTX 4090D and RTX 4070.

Pre-CES leaks from Inno3D, an Nvidia AIB partner, revealed details about their iChill X3 RTX 5090. This three-fan card occupies over three expansion slots and boasts the aforementioned 32GB GDDR7 memory and a 575W power draw – a considerable jump from the RTX 4090's 450W.

Key features of the RTX 5090, as confirmed by Inno3D, include:
