Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered offers an exhilarating blend of action-packed gameplay and deep customization options for weapons and outfits. You can tailor one outfit for stealthy encounters with machines, while another might be optimized for melee or ranged combat. However, there are moments when you might wish to harness the advantages of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible within certain limits, and this guide will walk you through the process.

Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required

To enjoy the benefits of dual outfit effects in Horizon Zero Dawn, you must play the Remastered version. A recent patch introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. This means you no longer need to compromise on style for the sake of stats.

Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method

To leverage the effects of two outfits, there are specific prerequisites to consider. Not all outfits are compatible with this method. While you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of these three:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)

These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you can't employ this technique right from the start of the game. Thankfully, you don't need to complete the base game to access the DLC.

How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Banuk Werak Runner

To acquire the Banuk Werak Runner, first, make your way to the expansion area by defeating the new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once in the area, locate a Bluegleam Merchant, identified by a blue icon, and purchase the outfit.

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept

For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain, you'll need to complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main mission in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear for this demanding quest, or lower the difficulty to Story mode for a quicker completion. The process to obtain the Adept version is identical, but it's only accessible in New Game Plus.

Once you have the second outfit, you can stop exploring the Frozen Wilds if you wish.

What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits

Begin by equipping your preferred outfit with the desired stats. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. After selecting your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. These outfits don't provide additional stats but offer automatic healing after a period of taking damage.

This method allows you to retain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you become nearly invincible, as you seldom take damage. And in the rare cases you do, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk will activate after a brief delay.

The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits have a faster healing activation compared to the Banuk Werak Runner, so prioritize these if available.
