Essence Stones are exciting new items introduced in the March 2025 update for *Fields of Mistria*. These stones are essential for several new features that enhance your daily gameplay experience. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of different sizes in the game.

With the latest March 2025 update, *Fields of Mistria* players can now discover Essence Stones inside chests scattered throughout the mines. I stumbled upon my first Essence Stone while searching for items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but you can encounter these chests on any level across the existing biomes and floors. Be cautious, though; mimic enemies that mimic chests can deal damage upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. The smaller sizes are more common, but with diligent exploration, you can uncover larger deposits. If you're struggling to find them, consider crafting them after constructing the Stone Refinery within the mines.

Crafting Essence Stones becomes possible once you've built the Stone Refinery, a new feature introduced in the March 2025 update. This structure is part of a new story quest where Adeline recruits you, alongside Olric and Errol, to construct it within the mines.

To build the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

  • x200 Wood
  • x400 Stone
  • x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes using just Stone and Essence. The quantities required vary based on the size of the stone you wish to craft, as outlined in the table below:

**Tiny Essence Stone**x5 Stone
x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**x10 Stone
x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**x20 Stone
x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**x40 Stone
x100 Essence

Beyond crafting Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery also allows you to create common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a versatile hub for your crafting needs in Mistria.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update has brought new mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, including the auto-petter and sprinkler systems, both of which rely on Essence Stones. Larger stones provide a longer-lasting charge, with Large Essence Stones offering the most extended duration.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. When powered by an Essence Stone, this statue automatically pets all animals inside daily. You can find this rare item in a hidden cave near Errol’s house in the Narrows by using the Dragon’s Breath spell to access the entrance. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues if needed.

The sprinkler mechanic, powered by the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when equipped with an Essence Stone. You can position this item anywhere on your farm and craft more as required to manage your crop hydration efficiently. To obtain the statue and its crafting scroll, swim to a small island east of the beach, just beyond the Lighthouse area, and use Dragon’s Breath to enter.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with future updates from NPC Studio, Essence Stones are poised to play an even more significant role in your adventures.
