"Gothic 1 Remake Demo at Steam Next Fest: Meet New Protagonist Niras"

Alkimia Interactive, the creative minds behind the much-awaited Gothic 1 Remake, have given journalists from various media outlets an exclusive sneak peek at a brand-new demo version of the game. Originally crafted for Gamescom, this demo is now poised to be released to the public in the coming days.

This demo acts as an appetizer to the full game, introducing players to a new protagonist named Niras, instead of the traditional Nameless Hero. Niras is a prisoner who finds himself in the Miners' Valley, where he engages with the local inhabitants and lays the groundwork for the overarching storyline.

Back in 2024, the developers showcased an exclusive prologue demo at Gamescom, highlighting Niras' entry into the Colony and his initial encounters with its unforgiving environment and residents. Very soon, this demo will be made available to everyone, granting players around the globe the chance to dive into the refreshed universe of Gothic. Both the demo and the complete game have been reconstructed almost entirely from the ground up, ensuring a longer playtime, a more detailed focus on orcs, and enhanced immersive features. Fans can look forward to a more enriched and captivating experience than the original offered.

The latest demo of Gothic 1 Remake will be launched on Steam during the Steam Next Fest event. It will be freely available from the evening of February 24th until the evening of March 3rd, after which it will no longer be accessible. The full release of Gothic 1 Remake is slated for later this year on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
