Gears of War: E-Day Co-Developer People Can Fly Signs New Project With Sony, Codenamed Project Delta

People Can Fly, the studio behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment on a new game, codenamed Project Delta. A report from People Can Fly details the agreement, classifying Project Delta as a work-for-hire title, though specifics remain undisclosed.

This latest collaboration adds to People Can Fly's already extensive portfolio. The studio is currently juggling multiple projects with similar codenames, including Project Gemini (a partnership with Square Enix, which experienced layoffs last year), Project Echo (with Krafton), Project Red (potentially also with Sony), and Project Bison, a VR title recently announced as their final VR endeavor.

In recent months, People Can Fly has made significant adjustments to its development pipeline. Last December, the studio paused work on Project Victoria and scaled back another project, Project Bifrost. Earlier, in April, Project Dagger, an action-adventure game with Take-Two Interactive, was cancelled.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly still has eight known projects underway, including the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day developed in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day is yet to be announced, Project Gemini, the Square Enix partnership, is currently slated for a 2026 release.
