Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained

In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, you're equipped to tackle operations with a pair of weapons—your choice from six distinct types. Mix and match to create a character perfectly suited to your playstyle. Each weapon type offers unique tactical advantages.

Three are melee weapons, three are ranged, and each boasts customizable options. Certain weapons even unleash special effects when fully charged.

Every Weapon Type in *Freedom Wars Remastered*

Unlock new weapons by completing operations or purchasing them from Zakka in The Warren. While your Comrades' weapons are predetermined, you have complete freedom to equip your Accessory as you see fit. Change your weapons whenever you like; there's no penalty for frequent switching.

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced combat, targeting single enemies. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-swinging attacks deliver substantial damage. Well-placed attacks hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch you into the air at the end of combos. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm Attacks often involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks hurl the polearm for massive damage from a safe distance.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, making them perfect primary weapons for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, enabling strategic positioning and long-range attacks.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire, large ammo capacity, and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the rapid firing rate compensates. Reduces movement speed.

Note: Your Accessory doesn't need to worry about ammo when using gun weapons.
