The Fourth Wing Books are Dominating Amazon's Kindle Best Sellers List in 2025 So Far

Rebecca Yarros's Empyrean series continues its meteoric rise, with all three books—Fourth Wing, Iron Flame, and the recently released Onyx Storm—currently dominating Amazon's 2025 Kindle best-seller list. The series' popularity exploded in 2023 following the release of Fourth Wing and its subsequent viral success on BookTok. This romantasy series has since ascended to the top of numerous bestseller charts.

The remarkable success of Onyx Storm demonstrates the enduring appeal of Yarros' writing style, expertly blending fantasy and romance to captivate a vast readership. With an Amazon-produced Fourth Wing TV series now in the works, the Empyrean series is poised for even greater heights, potentially surpassing even the Harry Potter franchise in popularity.

The Physical Editions Are Also Flying Off the Shelves

Onyx Storm (Deluxe Limited Edition)

While the Empyrean series reigns supreme on Kindle charts, its physical copies are also performing exceptionally well in Amazon's 2025 best-selling physical books list. Both the deluxe and standard editions of Onyx Storm are in the top 10, and Fourth Wing remains within the top 25.

Only the recent release of Suzanne Collins' new Hunger Games novel has temporarily relegated Onyx Storm to the second spot for fiction. However, given the ongoing influx of new readers discovering the series through Fourth Wing, this ranking could easily shift again before the year's end.
