Fortnite Hunters plunges players into a new reality brimming with Japanese mythology, featuring unique locations, challenging demon bosses, and powerful weapons. While the ability to teleport using Void Oni Masks adds a new dimension to gameplay, acquiring high-tier weapons is now easier than ever thanks to Weapon Expertise Quests. These quests offer substantial XP rewards for each completed stage, and completing them unlocks access to Legendary weapons sold by various NPCs across the map. This guide details everything you need to know about Weapon Expertise Quests and how to conquer them.

Updated January 14, 2025, by Nathan Round: With each Fortnite Hunters update, new Expertise Quests emerge. This guide has been updated to include the recently added Melee Expertise Quests, enabling players to purchase the Typhoon Blade from Kendo upon completion.

Weapon Expertise Quests Explained

Weapon Expertise Quests are a unique Fortnite Hunters feature, linked to specific map NPCs. The introductory quest involves speaking with Hope, Ruji, or Agent Jones about Expertise and weapon sales. Each Weapon Expertise Quest comprises five stages. Completion unlocks one of three Legendary weapons from Hope, Ruji, or Vengeance Jones. Further quests allow purchasing Oni Masks from Daigo (for quick access to Void and Fire Oni Masks) and the Typhoon Blade from Kendo. These quests are tracked in the main lobby or in-game via the Quests tab.

Weapon Expertise Quests can be completed passively, but will undoubtedly take a while to fulfill. However, the rewards for completing them are well worth the effort. For those who are still progressing through each Weapon Expertise Quest, here are all the Expertise Rewards available for purchase:
