Lunar New Year Event: January 29 – February 2

The Lunar New Year 2025 event runs through February 2 at 08:00 PM local time, offering Pokémon GO players a delightful way to celebrate the Chinese New Year. This year, themed around the Year of the Snake, the event boosts the spawn rates of snake-like Pokémon, including:

  • Onix (Shiny available)
  • Snivy (Shiny available)
  • Darumaka (Shiny available)
  • Dunsparce (Shiny available)
  • Gyarados (Shiny available)
  • Dratini (Shiny available)

In addition to increased encounter rates, the Lunar New Year event introduces bonuses such as a higher chance of obtaining Lucky Pokémon in trades and becoming Lucky Friends. The Legendary Flight event wraps up with the introduction of Dynamax Moltres, available as a Max Monday boss at all Power Spots from 06:00 PM to 07:00 PM on February 3. Post this hour, Moltres will remain available for challenges until February 9, though not at all Power Spots, as other Pokémon like Squirtle, Krabby, and Sobble will also be featured until February 10. Players may need to explore their local areas to encounter this legendary firebird.

Karrablast & Shelmet Community Day: February 9

On Sunday, February 9, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, Pokémon GO hosts a dual Community Day for Karrablast & Shelmet. This event allows players to gather Karrablast and Shelmet Candies, with increased encounter rates, evolution bonuses, and improved Shiny odds. Evolving Karrablast or Shelmet by February 16, 2025, at 10:00 PM will grant Escavalier with the Charged Attack Razor Shell or Accelgor with Energy Ball, respectively. For an easier experience, players can purchase premium Timed Research for US$2.00 or its local equivalent.

Beloved Buddies: February 11 – 15

A mysterious event named Beloved Buddies is scheduled from Tuesday, February 11, at 10:00 AM until Saturday, February 15, at 08:00 PM local time. Details are yet to be revealed, but stay tuned for updates.

Raid Day: February 15

Pokémon GO’s February Raid Day is set for Saturday, February 15, from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM local time. The featured boss has not been announced yet, but we will update this information once it is available.
