Elden Ring: Nightreign will remove an iconic feature of the last game. Why won't players be able to leave messages?
Elden Ring: Nightreign will remove the in-game messaging feature, a decision explained by project director Junya Ishizaki. Due to the game's approximately forty-minute gameplay sessions, Ishizaki stated there's insufficient time for players to leave or read messages.
"With sessions lasting roughly forty minutes, there isn't enough time to send your own messages or read other people's messages, therefore we disabled the messaging feature."
This change is noteworthy given the importance of player messages in previous FromSoftware titles, which fostered community interaction and enhanced the gaming experience. However, the development team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's design.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a separate narrative. The game promises a fresh adventure with unique challenges and encounters, while retaining the atmosphere and complexity of the Elden Ring world.
