Dragon Ball Project: Multi to Launch in 2025
Bandai Namco's highly anticipated Dragon Ball MOBA, Dragon Ball Project: Multi, has recently unveiled its release window following the successful completion of its beta testing phase. Dive into the details of this exciting announcement and what to expect from Dragon Ball Project: Multi.
Dragon Ball Project: Multi Set for 2025 Release
Dragon Ball Project: Multi, a thrilling multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game inspired by the legendary Dragon Ball anime and manga series, is slated for a 2025 launch. This news was shared via the game's official Twitter (X) account. While a precise release date remains under wraps, fans can look forward to playing on both Steam and mobile platforms. Following the conclusion of a regional beta test, the development team at Bandai Namco expressed their gratitude towards the community, stating, "We sincerely thank everyone for taking part in the Regional [Beta] Test. All the valuable input we have received from our players will help our development team strive to make the game even more entertaining."
Crafted by Ganbarion, renowned for their work on One Piece video game adaptations, Dragon Ball Project: Multi promises a 4v4 team-based strategic experience. Players will have the opportunity to control iconic characters from the Dragon Ball universe, including Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Frieza, and more. As the game's synopsis explains, "The Hero characters you take control of will grow in strength as the round progresses, giving you a chance to obliterate enemy players and bosses alike." The game also offers extensive customization, featuring various skins, entrance, and finisher animations.
The Dragon Ball fanbase has shown significant interest in this MOBA, traditionally known for its association with fighting games, as evidenced by the upcoming DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO by Spike Chunsoft. Feedback from the beta test has been largely positive, though some players have noted the game's simplicity and brevity, likening it to Pokemon Unite. One player shared on Reddit, "It's an incredibly simple (and short) MOBA, more akin to something like Pokemon Unite," but also acknowledged that the gameplay is "decent fun."
Concerns have been raised about the game's currency system, with one player expressing frustration over the need to reach a 'store level' through in-game purchases, which they felt made the game "SUPER grindy" and pushed players to buy Heroes. On a positive note, u/Icechillay simply stated, "I like the game," reflecting a more favorable view among some of the community.
