DOOM: Gameplay From Dark Ages Revealed By NVIDIA

Nvidia Unveils New Doom: The Dark Ages Gameplay

Nvidia's recent hardware and software showcase offered a glimpse into the highly anticipated Doom: The Dark Ages, slated for release in 2025 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. A brief, 12-second teaser showcased the game's diverse environments and the iconic Doom Slayer, equipped with a new shield.

This next installment in id Software's acclaimed Doom reboot series (following the 2016 title) promises to build upon the legacy of intense combat and brutal world design. While the teaser doesn't display combat directly, it highlights the variety of locations players will explore, ranging from opulent corridors to barren landscapes. Nvidia confirmed the game will leverage the latest idTech engine and feature ray reconstruction on the new RTX 50 series, hinting at stunning visuals.

The Doom: The Dark Ages footage follows other showcases featuring CD Projekt Red's next Witcher game and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, both praised for their visual fidelity. Nvidia's new GeForce RTX 50 series is poised to further enhance graphical capabilities for developers.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, Doom: The Dark Ages is expected to launch sometime in 2025. Further details on the game's narrative, enemies, and signature combat are anticipated in the coming months. DLSS 4 enhancement has also been confirmed by Nvidia.
