Digimon Story: Anticipated Title Surfaces Ahead of PlayStation Event

by Benjamin Feb 25,2025

A potential leak from GameStop suggests an upcoming Digimon game, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, may be unveiled during tonight's PlayStation State of Play. Gematsu uncovered pre-order listings on GameStop's website for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, though details remain scarce.

The leak's timing, just hours before Sony's 40-minute State of Play presentation, strongly hints at an official announcement. While Sony hasn't revealed the presentation's contents, the Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-orders significantly increase the likelihood of a reveal.

The Digimon Story series boasts a history dating back to the mid-2000s Nintendo DS release. Subsequent installments, including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (2015), Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (2017), and a 2019 Complete Edition, have expanded the franchise across various platforms. These RPGs typically involve befriending and battling Digimon.

Following a 2022 tease from franchise producer Kazumashu Habu hinting at a new Story game, fans have eagerly awaited a sequel. While titles like Digimon Survive bridged the gap, Digimon Story: Time Stranger appears poised to finally deliver a new entry in the beloved series.
