During the DIGIMON CON 2025 event, Bandai Namco unveiled exciting new projects for the Digimon franchise, including the mobile TCG, Digimon Alysion, and the highly anticipated Digimon Story: Time Stranger. These announcements promise to expand the Digimon universe and engage fans with new gameplay experiences and narratives.

Digimon's New Mobile TCG Digimon Alysion Is In Development

On March 20, during the DIGIMON CON 2025 Livestream, Bandai Namco introduced Digimon Alysion, a new mobile trading card game currently in development. Aiming to capture the growing mobile TCG market, Digimon Alysion follows in the footsteps of successful games like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap. This free-to-play game will allow players to collect cards featuring various Digimon and franchise characters, construct decks, and compete in battles against other players.

What sets Digimon Alysion apart is its inclusion of an in-depth story mode, providing players with a rich narrative experience in addition to standard and competitive gameplay. A new trailer showcased snippets of the gameplay and introduced an all-female cast speculated to be central to the story mode. The new characters include Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, along with a new Digimon, Gemmon.

While an official release date for Digimon Alysion has not been announced, Bandai has confirmed an upcoming closed beta test, with further details to be shared later.

Further excitement came with new details about Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara shared insights into the game’s history, main characters, and the unique abilities of several featured Digimon during the livestream.

Hara confirmed that players will start their journey by choosing from three iconic Digimon from the original Digimon Adventure anime: Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon. These choices align with fan speculations, given their prominence in the game's promotional materials.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger boasts an impressive roster of over 450 Digimon, surpassing its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory, which featured 330 Digimon. The new trailer highlighted some of these Digimon, including Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the beloved Agumon.
