Best Shovel and Detector Combo in Desert Detectors

The undisputed champions of Desert Detectors are the Pharaoh Shovel and Pharaoh Detector. Their superior stats are complemented by incredibly valuable passive abilities, especially the Detector's. Both are located at the Pyramids. To find them, check your compass (top of the screen) and head west from your starting area.

Getting Cursed Treasures With Pharoh Detector

The Pharaoh Detector unlocks access to Cursed Treasures, though finding them isn't guaranteed. The Detector only has a 5% chance of uncovering a Cursed Treasure, so be prepared for some digging.
Cursed Treasures sell for much more than regular finds. A regular chest might fetch 500 Sheckles, while a Cursed Chest could be worth 12,500 Sheckles. Ideally, you'll find a Cursed Treasure at a Rainbow Spot, as these locations yield the most valuable treasures.
How to Farm Sheckles for Pharoh Detector and Shovel

The Pharaoh Detector and Shovel's high cost (2,000,000 Sheckles for the Detector and 575,000 Sheckles for the Shovel) reflects their effectiveness. To amass this fortune, focus on Rainbow, Red, and Yellow spots, primarily around the Pyramids and the Plains behind them. This area offers higher-value treasures than other locations.
While there's no foolproof method for finding these spots, prioritize Rainbow spots first. A successful Rainbow spot dig often means others are nearby, so thoroughly check the surrounding area.
After discovering rare treasures, consider smelting them at the Blacksmith. Smelting upgrades treasures to Polished, Shiny, or Gold variants, significantly increasing their resale value.
How to Smelt Found Treasures

The Blacksmith Building in Dusthaven (your spawn area) houses the NPC smelter. Select the treasures you want to smelt. We recommend prioritizing Sphynx, Fighting Jett, Pharaoh's Pillar, or Submarine due to their high resale value.
Smelting takes 4-12 hours, depending on the treasure's rarity, and continues even while you're offline. Collect your upgraded treasures once the process is complete.
