Bring Large Dung Pods
The Hirabami in *Monster Hunter Wilds* present a surprisingly tough challenge, especially due to their tendency to hunt in packs. Your best bet? Large Dung Pods. These will scatter the creatures, allowing you to tackle them one at a time, significantly simplifying the fight.
Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo
Hirabami's aerial acrobatics can make melee combat frustrating. Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo is your answer. These can knock them out of the sky. If you're running low, severing the Hirabami's tail yields a Tail Claw Shard, which can be crafted into more ammo.
Utilize Environmental Traps
The Iceshard Cliffs arena offers environmental hazards to your advantage. Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars can be triggered to stun and damage the Hirabami, giving you a crucial edge.
Aim for the Head
The head remains the optimal target, though Hirabami's aerial maneuvers make it tricky for melee users. Focus on the neck when it descends, avoiding the heavily armored torso.
Watch the Tail
Hirabami's attacks are varied: biting, spitting, and a devastating dive attack. While its head provides attack cues, be mindful of its powerful tail swipe, which can easily interrupt your attacks.

How to Capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds
To capture Hirabami, reduce its health to 20% or less (indicated by a skull icon on the mini-map). Quickly set up a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap, then use a Tranquilizer before it escapes. Capture guarantees a reward, though you'll miss out on potential extra materials from weak point hits.
Mastering the Hirabami fight involves utilizing Large Dung Pods, exploiting environmental traps, and focusing on strategic attacks. Remember to use the SOS flare if needed. Good hunting!
