Clash of Clans to Remove Troop Training Times in Major Update

by Andrew Mar 27,2025

Clash of Clans, a cornerstone of mobile gaming history, is showing its age in some aspects. However, Supercell has been diligently modernizing the game, and a significant transformation is on the horizon. The game is set to completely eliminate troop training times, allowing players to deploy their armies almost instantly and dive into battles faster than ever before. This monumental change follows the removal of training costs back in 2022, marking another step towards streamlining gameplay.

As part of this overhaul, Training Potions and Training Treats will no longer be available through in-app purchases or chest rewards. You can still acquire them via the Trader and Gold Pass, but be sure to use them before the end of the month, as they will be converted to Gems. This shift signifies a major change in resource management within the game.

To help players adapt to this new dynamic, Supercell is introducing a feature called "Match Anytime." This mechanic allows you to attack a snapshot of another player's base when no real-time opponents are available. You'll still earn rewards, but players whose bases are used won't lose anything if defeated. This system, already used in Clan Wars and Legend League, will now become a standard feature, enhancing the flexibility and accessibility of gameplay.

Additionally, keep an eye out for other changes, such as Army Donations now requiring Elixirs or Dark Elixirs. For a comprehensive look at these updates and more, be sure to check out the Supercell blog.
