New Call of Duty: Warzone Update Reportedly Causing Big Problems

Warzone's Latest Update: Bug Fixes Lead to New Matchmaking and Ranked Play Issues

The newest Call of Duty: Warzone update, intended to squash existing bugs, has ironically introduced a fresh batch of problems, primarily affecting matchmaking and Ranked Play. While successfully addressing loading screen crashes and other minor glitches, the patch has reportedly caused significant disruptions in the competitive Ranked Play mode.

Warzone, a hugely popular battle royale game since its 2020 launch, has seen its fair share of updates, some lauded, others controversial. The removal of the Verdansk map and the integration of Black Ops 6 mechanics remain points of contention among players. However, additions like Resurgence mode and new maps have also been well-received.

Reports from CharlieIntel on Twitter highlight the current issues: players are experiencing matchmaking difficulties, and Ranked Play is riddled with problems such as players phasing beneath the map and Buy Station malfunctions. These issues are particularly concerning given the competitive nature of Ranked Play.

While Activision hasn't yet publicly acknowledged these problems, it's highly likely they're aware and working on a solution. Considering Warzone's frequent update schedule, a fix should arrive relatively soon.

The game's Steam player count has recently declined, attributed to increased competition, cheating issues, and unpopular choices like the premium Squid Game Battle Pass. Resolving these current glitches, coupled with a potential Verdansk map return, could significantly boost Warzone's player base.
