We gave the AMD Radeon RX 9070 an 8/10 rating. Priced similarly to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, it outperforms it in most games we tested and boasts more VRAM (16GB vs 12GB), suggesting better future-proofing. Power consumption is comparable to the RTX 5070.

"The AMD Radeon RX 9070 is a superb 1440p graphics card that makes the competition almost irrelevant. It delivers exceptional 1440p performance, often reaching high refresh rates even without frame generation, and even includes an AI upscaler for enhanced image quality. Its only drawback is its proximity in performance to the Radeon RX 9070 XT."

The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT received a perfect 10/10 from us. Despite costing $150 less than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, the 9070 XT surpasses it in many of the games we tested—in some benchmarks, the difference was significant. It also features 16GB of VRAM, matching both the 9070 and 5070 Ti. However, it does consume more power and run hotter on average than the RTX 5070 Ti.

"PC gaming has been in a slump since 2020, and the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is a breath of fresh air. This graphics card effortlessly maxes out any game at 4K resolution, even with ray tracing enabled, all at a price that makes the competition seem overpriced. While I can't predict the future, only time will tell if the launch price remains competitive. What I do know is that we need more graphics cards like the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT."
