Brew a Healing Draught in KCD2

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Hans's main quest, "For Whom the Bell Tolls," requires crafting a Fever Tonic to aid Thomas. Accessing the necessary recipe involves navigating Trosky Castle.

Acquiring the Fever Tonic Recipe:

Two methods exist: Stealthily enter the Surgeon's Workshop within the castle, or persuade the chamberlain. After delivering the horseshoe in "For Whom the Bell Tolls," speak with Cook Fanka. Assisting her with a locked chest gains access to the noble's kitchen. Convincing the ailing chamberlain of your medical skills (via skill checks) grants workshop access. Alternatively, if skill checks fail, steal food, proceed to another kitchen (guarded), bribe the guard with the stolen food, and then sneak into the workshop. The Surgeon's journal, containing the recipe, is located on a bookshelf.

Brewing the Fever Tonic:

The surgeon's station provides all necessary ingredients. Follow these steps:

1. Pour wine into the cauldron.
2. Add 3 handfuls of Feverfew.
3. Simmer for 2 sandglass turns.
4. Grind a handful of Elderberry Leaves.
5. Add the ground Elderberry Leaves.
6. Add 2 handfuls of Ginger.
7. Obtain a phial from the bottom-left shelf.
8. Distill the tonic.

Multiple attempts may be needed. Additional herbs are available in a chest within the room.

Completing the Quest:

Having brewed the Fever Tonic (and optionally, a Digestive Potion for the chamberlain), locate Thomas. If you gained the chamberlain's trust, return with both potions. Otherwise, use the kitchen to reach the chapel and speak with Adele to conclude the quest.
