How To Break & Repair a Broken Object in The Sims 4 Blast From the Past Event

by Aria Feb 27,2025

The Sims 4's Blast from the Past event offers enticing rewards, but earning them presents a challenge. One particularly tricky task involves breaking and repairing an object. This guide outlines how to accomplish this.

The Ambassador toilet, a key item in this process.

Week 2's challenge requires raising your Sim's Handiness skill to level 2 or higher, a relatively straightforward task. The difficulty lies in the subsequent requirement: repairing a broken object. The game doesn't highlight broken items, so you'll need to create one.

While "pranking" an object is an option, it necessitates a specific Sim trait, adding unnecessary complexity. A simpler method is repeatedly using an item until it breaks. The Ambassador toilet, being inexpensive, is ideal. Using it approximately a dozen times will cause it to malfunction, thus fulfilling the "broken object" requirement. This can be done by your Sim or by inviting guests to use it.

Repairing the broken object is simple once your Handiness skill reaches level 2. Simply select the "Repair" interaction on the broken item. After a short time, the repair is complete, resolving the Blast from the Past challenge.
