Battlefield Leaks Fuel Fan Frenzy: EA Silent

by Natalie Mar 13,2025

Despite stringent NDAs designed to prevent leaks, footage and screenshots of EA's upcoming, untitled Battlefield game have surfaced online. Dozens of videos and images, originating from closed playtesting sessions, have revealed significant details about the game.

As previously reported, the leaked footage appears to confirm the game's "modern" setting, a departure from previous Battlefield titles, as teased by Vince Zampella. A quick browse of the Battlefield subreddit reveals numerous firefights showcasing the game's destructible environments and new mechanics. These include the ability to hang off vehicles and drag wounded teammates to safety.

Surprisingly, EA's response to these leaks has been notably muted. Most publishers aggressively pursue takedowns of leaked pre-release footage due to concerns about unfinished elements, such as animations, UI, and graphics. However, despite players violating confidentiality agreements by sharing videos and screenshots, EA has yet to initiate widespread takedown actions.

This inaction might be attributed to the overwhelmingly positive player reaction to the leaked footage. Unlike the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042, the early impressions of this new title are overwhelmingly favorable. Players have praised the improved animations, weapon handling, and the impressive level of environmental destruction. Comments like, "This game is shaping up very damn well," and "The explosions, bullets…buildings crumbling…This has so much potential!" highlight the enthusiasm surrounding the leaked gameplay. The superior sound design and destruction effects have also been specifically lauded.

EA anticipates launching its next Battlefield game in fiscal year 2026 (between April 2025 and March 2026). The recent official unveiling confirmed the return of a traditional, linear single-player campaign, a feature notably absent in Battlefield 2042, which has been met with considerable player excitement.
