In Avowed, Paradisan Ladder is a crucial, rare upgrade material. This guide outlines five methods to acquire it efficiently.

Methods to Obtain Paradisan Ladder:

1. Purchasing from Merilyn: Merilyn, a merchant located in South Paradise (see map below), offers five Paradisan Ladder units for 150 coins each. She also sells two items (Many-Hued Doublet and Common Grimoire of Elements) that can be broken down for additional Paradisan Ladder (two units each). Her inventory doesn't respawn after selling out.

2. Exploration: Paradisan Ladder plants are scattered throughout the game world, both in the wilderness and cities. Check your mini-map for the plant icon (red circle in image below) to locate them. Be aware that other plant types may look similar.

3. Side Quests: Many side quests reward crafting materials, including Paradisan Ladder. The "Escape Plan" quest, for example, provides two units. Completing side quests offers additional benefits like XP and other resources.

4. Item Breakdown: Disassembling higher-quality items previously upgraded with Paradisan Ladder will yield some of the herb back. Check merchant inventories for unique items with Paradisan Ladder listed in their breakdown details.

5. Downgrading Hylea's Talon: Once you reach Emerald Stair and acquire Hylea's Talon (a higher-tier material), you can downgrade each unit into three Paradisan Ladder units at your party camp workbench. This is useful for switching weapon types or quickly upgrading weaker weapons.
