"Now You See Me 3 Renamed; Sequel Confirmed"
Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: the third installment, officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, as confirmed by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon. Excitingly, Now You See Me 4 is also in development.
Director Ruben Fleischer, known for his work on Zombieland, Uncharted, and Venom, has signed on with Lionsgate to both develop and direct the fourth film. The franchise has already amassed an impressive $700 million at the global box office.
The original cast, including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, will be joined by a new generation of illusionists featuring Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt. Rosamund Pike is set to star in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, reuniting Fleischer with Eisenberg and Harrelson from his debut film, Zombieland.
Bobby Cohen, the series' original developer and producer, will return to produce alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout, with Meredith Wieck overseeing the project for Lionsgate.
Fogelson praised Fleischer's work on the third film, saying, “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”
Fleischer expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going.”
IGN's reviews of the previous films were mixed. Now You See Me received a 6.3/10, with the critique, “Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot.” Now You See Me 2 scored a 6.2, with the comment, "Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance."
