Application Description

Unleash the power of your device with Keymapper! This open-source tool allows you to remap a variety of hardware buttons, giving you full control over your user experience. Whether you want to customize fingerprint gestures on supported devices, repurpose volume buttons, or reconfigure navigation buttons, Keymapper has got you covered. You can even remap keys on your Bluetooth or wired keyboards, as well as buttons on other connected devices. Keep in mind that while Keymapper offers extensive remapping capabilities, there's no guarantee that every button will work, and it's not designed for controlling games. Your device's OEM or vendor might prevent certain buttons from being remapped.

With Keymapper, you can create complex "triggers" by combining multiple keys from a single device or across different devices. These triggers can be set to perform multiple actions, either simultaneously or in a sequence. You have the flexibility to remap keys based on short presses, long presses, or double presses, tailoring your device's behavior to your preferences. Additionally, you can set up "constraints" for your keymaps, ensuring they only activate in specific situations.

However, not all buttons can be remapped. The power button, Bixby button, mouse buttons, and game controller components like the D-pad, thumb sticks, or triggers are off-limits. It's also important to note that your key maps won't function when the screen is off due to Android limitations, and there's nothing the developers can do about this.

So, what can you achieve with remapped keys? The possibilities are vast! From adjusting system settings to controlling your device's flashlight, Keymapper offers a plethora of actions. Some advanced features are only available on rooted devices and specific Android versions, so be sure to check out the full list of actions at docs.keymapper.club/user-guide/actions.

When it comes to permissions, you don't need to grant them all for the app to function. Keymapper will let you know if a particular permission is required for a feature to work. Essential permissions include Accessibility Service for basic remapping functionality, Device Admin to turn off the screen, Modify System Settings for adjusting brightness and rotation, and Camera for flashlight control. Be aware that on some devices, enabling the accessibility service might disable "enhanced data encryption."
